Ilan Pomerantz
Attorney, buying and selling
A sale is a handful of people who each need something different by closing day. My job is to keep the calendar honest so nobody is surprised.
I came to law from accounting, so I read a purchase agreement the way a buyer’s accountant would: what is counted, what is not and who stands behind it. That is useful to a seller preparing for questions and to a buyer deciding what to ask.
I work from the Delray Beach office, and much of my week is spent between a seller, a landlord and a franchisor’s approval desk.

Off the clock
Away from the desk, I coach a youth soccer team and run a slow loop along the Intracoastal on Sunday mornings. Both teach patience about timelines.
